What are you doing right now?

Yet another earthquake. Creepy isn't it 20th of June was the last earthquake we had and now the 20th of July another earthquake. Oh and they are both 3 days before my sisters birthday (in june) and mine (on monday).

Big earthquake or little earthquake? I read that you are meant to stand in the doorframe. Anyway, hope you are getting some pre-birthday weekend treats today Ollie!

Right now I am pursuing spiders around the room with a postcard and a jar. I have two out of three of the little critters. I quite like spiders but there seems to have been a population explosion and some must go back outside!

PS: the earthquake was more small then big.

Good for you. "If you wish to live and thrive, let the spider run alive" is a truism. The number of nasties they will kill in your house at night makes them invaluable. We live near a stream, so we get a lot of woodlice around. Indoors or out we don't want them as they'll try to eat anything (& woodlice poo invisible to the naked eye about the place doesn't do your lungs a lot of good).

We still chuck them out though, as its in the garden they're most needed.

There's one spider we never chuck out which makes its home inside an old TV aerial outside line box socket on the skirting board. It only comes out after we've all gone to bed. Occasionally there's a dead pillbug or two in the morning waiting to be hoovered up. Some people have a watchdog. We have a watch spider.

Sitting really still, conserving energy, waiting for the fan to rotate round to me.... ah, there it is.... and now it's moved round again. Too hot, bring back the rain!

Getting ready to leave the Big Smoke for a few days. Happily this will mean that I am safely away from the enormous crowds arriving for some kind of sporting event that's apparently happening here.
