Launcher Has "Stopped Working"
Hey,
I just installed the base Sims 3 game, no expansions or stuff packs yet.
When I went to run the launcher, it takes a second, then comes up with the standard windows "Has Stopped Working" error, no other details.
If I try to run the executable directly, it starts loading and just as the bar hits the end, it just.... closes! No error message, or anything, the game just closes without any hint to why it would have closed.

I am running Windows 7, for reference.

RE: Launcher Has "Stopped Working"
A Reinstall fixed the issue, the launcher now loads, but now when I try to launch the game from the launcher, it gets me a black screen and plays the error message sound, when I make it back to my desktop I find this error message.

Code:
Unable to start game

Service initialization failed (0x024e424f)

RE: Launcher Has "Stopped Working"
Hi there!

I'm not an expert on this, but this is what I'd do, if I had this problem:
First, Uninstall and then reinstall Origin. A lot of the time, the problems with the launcher go with Origin. Try launching it from the launcher after everything has been reinstalled.

If that doesn't work, then go to C:/Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Game/Bin and look for the file that says "TS3.exe" and click on it. That should start your game right up.

If that doesn't work, you'll need to reinstall the entire game and start from the very beginning, because it sounds like something got installed wrong.

Let me know if any of that helped!
