Global PokédeX Plus - The Official Thread
![]() Global PokédeX Plus The Official Thread ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hello there, Pokémon fans! With the growing interest in Adoptables I thought it might be time to expand a little. I myself always said I would never take on more than I could chew ... well, I guess I can handle it now because I feel the urge to join others in the growing trend of the Pokémon Adoptables site Global PokédeX Plus (GPX+) that many of our members are already members of. Since this is new, especially to myself, there is not much to offer at this time. However, with your help and my own growing knowledge of this site and others like it, I'm sure we can make it as successful and fun as Dragon Cave has become to us. If you have any sites that you think would be of help to others, feel free to PM me the information and I will add it. But, for now this is what I've got! This thread, and others like it, will be edited as needed to include additions and to make changes. If you have a Party of your own that you'd like added to our list please PM me and I will add it as soon as I can! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A FAQ for the new GPX+ Player
This FAQ Will Be Edited To Show Updates As Needed Q: I can't pass the stupid test! A: Okay, that's not a question, but I can still help you with that! Scroll down unitl you reach Part II of the Official Thread, and you can find the answers to the stupid test there. Q: I just joined, how do I get eggs? A: There are two places you can go to start adopting. The first is the Lab - which is also the main page for GPX+ - there are 4 eggs to chose from, just click one! The second is the Shelter. These are eggs that other players have decided to no longer keep. Extra eggs from the Daycare are also sent here. This page will display 30 random Pokémon at a time. If you wish to view a new group of 30, simply refresh the page. Q: Do I lose my eggs on GPX+ like on other Adoptables sites? A: No, you do not. Unlike some other Adoptables sites, GPX+ eggs do not die and are not limited to a period of time to hatch. If you don't visit them and they've reached their time to hatch, they just remain "ready to hatch" until you go in and manually hatch them. Q: What does 'Maturity' mean and how does this effect my eggs/Pokémon? A: Maturity is how far along your egg is in its growth. Maturity is gained by getting views, unique views and interactions. Q: What does 'Happiness' mean and how does this effect my eggs/Pokémon? A: Happiness is increased by being interacted with. Some Pokémon will not evolve unless they are completely happy. Q: What are 'Interactions'? How do I interact with my eggs/Pokémon? A: Interactions are increased once a day for every person that warms your eggs or feeds your Pokémon. People interacting with your egg/Pokémon helps it mature the fastest. Q: What is the difference between 'Unique Views' and 'Views', and how do they effect my eggs/Pokémon? A: Views are increased anytime your egg's/Pokémon's sprite is viewed by someone. Unique Views are increased once a day for every person that views your egg's/Pokémon's sprite. Q: What does feeding my Pokémon berries do, and do certain types of Pokémon like certain types of berries? A: Feeding berries to a Pokémon helps to raise its maturity. As for types of Pokémon versus types of berries ... it's not that simple. They each have their own tastes; not every Rock Pokémon will like dry food, and not every Normal Pokémon will like sweet food. If you're going to feed a Pokémon a berry, pay special attention to what type of berry they like. Feeding it a preferred berry raises their maturity more than feeding it a random berry. I have provided a Berry Guide below. Q: "Users who have interacted with your Pokémon today - be sure to repay the favour!" what is this? A: Other players are able to interact with your eggs/Pokémon - and this is good! Anytime a player interacts with them, their name shows up in a small box in your "Party" menu. This allows you to return the favor - which I highly recommend! By returing the favor, the player is more likely to return in the future and interact with future eggs and Pokémon in your party. Q: How can I interact with players who haven't already interacted with me? A: At the top of the site you'll see this picture - ![]() Click on it and it will take you to a randomly selected player's party. Most players are very picky - if you only interact with one of theirs, they will interact with only one of yours. The best thing to do is to make sure you're interacting with all of their eggs/Pokémon - this will better ensure that all yours get interacted with in return; or at least as many of yours as they have of their own. Q: Earlier you mentioned manually hatching my egg. How do I know it's ready, and how do I hatch it? A: Eggs will begin to crack and show a hole in them as their maturity increases. Eggs start out with a 0/#,### maturity - depending on the rarity and type of the egg, the maturity level will vary. When the maturity level matches (example: 2,345/2,345), the egg is ready to be hatched. To hatch the egg, simply go to your 'Party' page, and under the 'Options' drop down menu you will see 'Hatch the egg' - select that. You will be taken to a page where you will then again click to hatch your egg. And voila! Your egg hatches and becomes a Pokémon. Another way to do it is to click on your egg, and under the Egg's Information area you will see a link that says 'hatch it', you can click this and it will do the same thing the other step had you do, as well. Either way you do it, from here you can then feed your Pokémon a berry! If it's still showing up as an egg after you've hatched it, don't worry. The site takes a few moments to update. Just refresh the page a few times and you're good to go! Q: What is a "Pal Pad" and how do I get one? A: A "Pal Pad" is basically a Friends List. It lets you store up to 32 friends at a time, so you can always have direct access to their Party for quick and easy interactions that will count with and from them. To add a player to your Pal Pad, go to their Party and click the 'add' button. You can change the order of your friends by dragging the arrows on the right hand side up or down. Names that are crossed out are players who have been banned. You may want to remove them so you can add new friends should you make more. To get a Pal Pad you will need to 'buy' one. You can visit the Shop to do this. You will find all kinds of useful items in the Shop, as well. I recommend also purchasing a Journal so that you can place a message to people who visit your Pokédex - a large number of players do this, including myself. You can find the Pal Pad and Journal at the bottom of the Shop under Account Upgrades, they are pretty cheap. To buy them, simply click on 'Purchase' on the far right, and voila! Q: I bought the Journal too. How do I update it? A: Go to your Party page, and you'll see a big blank box at the botton. That's your Journal, once you've typed up whatever it is you wanted to say, simply click Save Changes and you're done! Q: What is the PC and how do I use it? A: The PC on GPX+ is just like the one in the games. You store your Pokémon here; however unlike the games, you cannot store your eggs here. That would be cheating. You can also transfer Pokémon from box to box, and edit each individual box - such as its name, wallpaper, and whether or not it is public or private. A public box means other users will be able to view the box on your user page. To move your Pokémon around, simply drag and drop them from one box to another. To change a box's name just click on its current name, which will bring up a pop-up where you then type what you want its new name to be. Once you are done be sure to save your changes! You can store up to 24 Pokémon in each box, and you start with 25 boxes. This means you can store a total of 600 Pokémon right from the start! If you need more space you can go to the Shop and purchase additional boxes. Q: What are Event Eggs and how do I get them? A: Every so often (either once a month, or during a moderators birthday) a random selection of 'event' or 'novelty' eggs are dropped into peoples parties. The conditions are you read the thread posted on the GTS forum and you keep a space open during the course of the event. If you check back, you may find an egg in your party containing a legendary! These normally hatch at 30,000 maturity. For a birthday, or an event, the moderators can sometimes drop in made up eggs. These include an Easter Buneary, Slime Slugma and even a made up Zergoose. Q: There are some weird things called a Little Man, Treasure Chests & Manaphy ... what do these do? A: If you're lucky, very very lucky, you can find one of these. Just over your pokemon (in the bar which says 'Latest Update') occasionally you find the image of a little man, treasure chest or a Manaphy egg. If you click these whilst having a spare space in your party, you can get a MissingNo egg, a summoning item or a Manaphy egg. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Berry Guide
Pokémon that have hatched will give you the option to feed them. Each one has its own tastes. The best way to determine which berry to feed it is to see what kind of taste it prefers. Some will happily eat anything, and in that case any berry will do. But, for those who have specific tastes, I have made this list to help you out! When you click on a Pokémon you will be taken to its info page, there you will see "Nature: Type (Likes 'type' food)". Here, you can also click berries of 5 types. Try to click the berry that is of the 'type' listed for that Pokémon in particular. Here are the berries you can chose from, and their types â From left to right: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Aspear Cheri Chesto Pecha Rawst Sour Spicy Dry Sweet Bitter ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: Global PokédeX Plus- The Official Thread
![]() Global Pokédex Plus The Official Thread Part II ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When you first sign up with GPX+ you will need to do a couple things to verify you're not a bot; it will ask you to type something in a box ... anything. I just typed I love Pokémon in it, then it asked me to identify the Pokémon on the next page. That wasn't too hard, but if you have any trouble you can go here to see if you can find the name of the Pokémon they've got displayed - but, if you're as big a fan of Pokémon as we are, you should be able to figure it out without any help. Next, before you can do anything else, you will need to take a test. Yes ... a test. They are very strict and work very hard to keep trolls and spam bots out of their forums - which is great! But, the problem is that their rules page does not coincide with the test they make you take - at all. I myself took it close to 15 times before I gave up. Then my Fiancé gave it a try ... or 10. After about 20 minutes, it finally came down to process of elimination ... which only took about 2 minutes. So, for your benefit I made sure to copy down each answer as we answered them and made a cheat sheet for you! Don't you feel special? You'd better! Anyway ... moving on. Below I will include the Questions and the Answers in A B C format. The test comes with 14 questions, each question has 3 possible answers. Each answer will be a letter - A, B or C ... example: ![]() In this case, this is Question 3 and the Answer is marked with an x for this demonstration - on the site the circle will be filled with a green dot. The top answer would be A, the middle would be B and the bottom would be C. So, on the cheat sheet I will be providing, it will look like this: Question 3: C All right, that's all there is to it! I highly, HIGHLY advise that you be sure to read the Forum Rules for yourself, though. They are extremely, almost ridiculously strict about how you use the forums - what you can post, where you post and what is in your signatures and the size of your signatures. So please, for the love of ... whatever you love most ... read their rules in their entirety. It will save you time and frustration down the road. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Test Question 1: B Question 2: A Question 3: C Question 4: B Question 5: A Question 6: C Question 7: A Question 8: B Question 9: A Question 10: A Question 11: B Question 12: A Question 13: C Question 14: B Member since March 17th, 2008

Re: Global PokédeX Plus- The Official Thread
Not sure, tbh. I'm still new to this myself and haven't done a lot of research yet on how long each egg has to hatch, if they have a time period at all.
But, I've found that if you click for others they tend to click back and they have a neat system that actually tells you who's clicked your egg so you can return the favor. I'll do a write up about it later when I'm actually on, right now Sean's on he's just letting me check a few things x3 So I'll do some more research tonight. Also, if you want to click for others ... you can click the picture of the Pokemon coming out of the Pokedex at the top of the site (where it says Global Pokedex Plus) and it will take you to a random Dex, you can click their eggs/feed their Pokemon and typically those people will click back when they have the time ![]() But, like I said, I'll do a better write up for it later when I've done some more research x3 Member since March 17th, 2008
