Hi everyone,

I've got a problem in one of my sim households and hope someone can help me here.

First thing I noticed was my sims refused to use the stairs. When I sent them to use an object or talk to a sim upstairs they would walk towards the stairs first, then stop and take a step back as if there was something blocking the way, but I've checked and there's nothing there (also they had no speech bubble with footprints or something). When I moved one sim upstairs with move_objects, first thing she did was walking down again (really walk, not magically reappear downstairs!) to repeat the one-step-toward-stairs-one-step-back-thing.
Then my sims refused to do even some of the tasks on the same level, espescially interacting with each other. They just cancel the tasks on their own, like when there's something in the way, but there isn't. They don't even give reasons why (like low needs).

I've reloaded the lot, restarted the game, turned move_objects on and off again, didn't help.
I play the Sims 2 with all the extention packs but no mods and (until i tried move_objects) no cheats.

My last idea is to move the family to an new lot, but I didn't want to do that before asking for help here.

Please, anyone?
Thanks, Wanda

Hi guys. Long time no see.

I have a frustrating problem. I have Sims 2 and 3. I have been playing Sims 3 for quite awhile now. I had uninstaled Sims 2. Well now I'm tired of playing Sims 3, so I reinstalled Sims 2 base game. When I tried to launch, the launcher appeared and it said ! An error has occurred in the script on this page. etc. Do you want to continue using scripts on this page. Doesn't matter if I choose yes or no. It just closes. I found a way to go into my computer etc. and run it from there and it worked, but now I have also reinstalled Business, Pets and Season. It's saying the same thing on launching and opening with my computer etc. I really want the launch page to work. Also somehow I've installed a program called Origin that I don't want. When I open that it just shows Sims 3.

I probably explained that all wrong, but any suggestions on what to do? I'm running XP. Thanks in advance.

A while back, I had bought a copy of The Sims 2 for the Nintendo DS around the time it was first released. However, about year or so ago my copy was accidentally ruined. Recently I had bought another brand new copy from Amazon.com. It just came in the mail yesterday and when I went to play it, it already had three save files on it. The game was sealed in the same plastic wrap that video games typically come in when you buy them new, so it seemed like it was legitimately new. Two files with the name Cortney and one with the name Grace. I saved over one of them as I my character.

However, I do not remember that well since it's been a while since I had a brand new copy, but... is it supposed to be like this? Or does the game start with three blank save files? Does anyone have any idea why it has save files on it? Is there something I'm missing?

I've also had two glitches present as well:
1. The first time playing the game, it froze after about fifteen minutes or so. It hasn't done that since, however.
2. When someone checks out of the hotel earlier than expected, even if the concierge says they paid their bill, I don't receive the money

After some googling, I've found that the party guest limit is determined by your RAM.

My laptop specs are below but I'm pretty sure I have more than enough RAM to have more than 2 guests. I've had crummier computers which were allowed the full 8. Outside of the using the boolprop cheat, what else can I do? Is there something preventing the game from recognizing how much RAM I have?

After some googling, I've found that the party guest limit is determined by your RAM.

My laptop specs are below but I'm pretty sure I have more than enough RAM to have more than 2 guests. I've had crummier computers which were allowed the full 8. Outside of the using the boolprop cheat, what else can I do? Is there something preventing the game from recognizing how much RAM I have?

Hi guys!

I am so tempted to forget about this Sims2 game and go buy Sims3, because there is just no help out there! I've put so much effort into the game and I'm not ready to quit yet, but it IS tempting!

Anyhoo, here I am again.

I've installed Best of Business and I opened up a home bakery. Everything seemed to be going fine, but now I cannot order groceries on the phone. The service prompt for it doesn't even show up. Also when I go to buy groceries and come back, my Sim will NOT put away the groceries. I've tried different fridges to see if that was the problem but nope. I did see one other person in my search on the internet with this problem and the only advice they got was to keep buying a new fridge. Is there any other way? What could be the problem? I don't want to use a cheat.

Thanks in advance

Oh my gosh, I'm so embarassed once again. Although I shouldn't be! I just went back and clicked on the groceries on the counter and the prompt showed up?? My Sim is now cooking so maybe the fridge was full? Beats me? Whenever I post a question, it seems to solve my problem automatically? "do do do do"...Twilight Zone theme? {blush}

Greetings simmers . . .

I have had Sims 2 DD for a long time. I played it, and thanks to a virus I had to reinstall my OS and as a result I never reinstalled Sims 2 DD. My daughter, who is now old enough to play and understand the game, wants to play. But alas, I cannot locate the serial number. Where in cripees is the thing located? I can't recall if the game game with a manual and I can't locate any documentation that may have been packaged with the game (of course I have 12,000 game boxes, manuals, cd's etc. - that stuff could be in there somewhere.

I am not asking for a serial number, just a clue as to what the heck I am looking for in order to find it.

Thanks for any help.

This is getting embarassing {blush} Suddenly, Alexander Goth just turned black. The only cheat I have is aging off. I haven't downloaded anything new. It happened when I got the ReNuYuSenso Orb for Mortimer. I got him to use it, but he developed the "grilled cheese" aspiration. I realized it said not to use below gold (he was green) so I went to the community lot without saving, came back, deleted the orb and realized Alexander was all black. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but that's all I did. What now?? He's been just fine up until now? I looked it up and only found this problem with Sims3. However their problem seemed to start right away. Like I said Alexander has been just fine until now. Help me!

Ok this is strange. He went outside in the light and everything was fine. He went back in and he's black again? What the heck? Help me please! Should I change a setting? I don't see why. Everything was fine before. Why do these weird things only happen with MY game?

Ummm Nevermind, I turned "aging on" back on and made him a teen, now I can see him (so far) I guess he was sick of being a kid {rolleyes}

Yeah, it's me again {blush} The strangest thing just happened {unsure} I noticed that Daniel will no longer sleep in the same bed as Mary Sue (or is it vise versa?). I've been working on their relationship for a long time now. They didn't have a fight and everything has been going great. I looked at the relationship bar and it shows everything is fine with Mary Sue. Daniel is still in her family and household and she's still married to him. Daniel's bar however shows that Mary Sue is not only NOT in his household but he's not married to her and it's like they just met?? He's still wearing his wedding ring? Angela and Lilith are as they were with both parents. Did he move out, break up with her when I wasn't looking? Last time I looked their relationship was 100. This all happened when I had to use "moveObjects on" because they were both stuck in bed. I then sold that bed and bought a new one (I've had this problem before with other Sims...usually the most expensive bed) I'm not sure if anyone will reply to this (Majick must be on holidays {unsure} It seems nobody is playing Sims2 anymore. Hopefully it will work itself out...like most of my other problems {rolleyes} Murphy's Law I guess. Whenever I post I find a solution on my own. I'm afraid to save my game, sometimes that sets things right, but in this case I'm not sure {unsure} If I haven't changed my post by the time you read this could someone please help me?

Thanks in advance.

nevermind, I made them friends again, they went to work, came home and she was in the panel again as Daniel's wife.? {wacko}

Hi guys! I just purchased The Sims2 Best of Business collection, but I'm terrified to install it {ohmy} I've read the directions, but I'm still not sure what to do? I'm afraid I'm going to lose the game I'm playing now or screw it up some how. I have The Sims2 Double Deluxe installed now and I've been playing for ages. Somehow, I was under the impression I could just install this new collection and everything would neatly fall into place with my original game. Apparently, not so! {no} Right now I have the aging off cheat on. Do I have to turn that off? and backing up files? huh? duh? {unsure}

Would someone be kind enough to walk me through this very scary procedure? {freaked} Please make in simple. I'm not too computer savvy. {blush}

Thanks in advance.
