Yeah, sorry everyone, but I've put some Google AdSense ads up on the site. Only at the top there, there will never be any popup or ads between posts, everyone hates those.

Why now?
This site hasn't had any adverts on it for years. Which obviously means this site hasn't been making any money for years. Domain name renewals and hosting isn't free you know?! Luckily, it's also not that expensive for a site of this size so I've not minded taking the hit. However, the domain is up for renewal again so I thought I'd add the ads just to try and cover a fraction of the cost.

But, I hate ads. You suck.
Nobody likes ads really, and lets be honest, if you really don't like them you would have installed an ad blocker extension in your browser. There are plenty out there, just google it. That'll solve your problem.

Wait, did you just tell me a way to avoid seeing your ads?
Yes, you're welcome. But if you want to help cover the costs, feel free to allow them for this site and give them a click when you stop by!

Here's what I've done as a work round (I'm only a moderator so am limited in what I can do).

I've posted up some good ones into an old Photobucket account of mine from my Evil Dictators [EVDI] days and will post them all in this thread.

All you will need to do to use them is:

1. Copy their location (right click with your mouse and then choose Copy Link Location)use the Insert Image)

2. Click on Insert Image (the button on the top right of the Editor bar when you are typing posts). A window will pop up and ask you "Please enter the remote URL of the image you wish to insert."

Now right click and the location of the smiley you want will be ready to post.

This means you will need to have two windows up, one for this post with the smilies on it and one for your post: a bit awkward but worth it to get some decent smilies on the forum.

The direct link to the Photobucket account I'm using for this is here:

The new Sims Forum Portal is a front page to the forums which allows us to have more of a website feel, which is totally integrated into the forums. It allows us to add pages with new content, better navigation and other goodies that you'll see over time.

Right now it's pretty bare but we'll be adding new content to the site soon. We're after some ideas of what new content you want, so if you've any ideas please let us know!

If you don't like the navigation on the forums, you can hide it by clicking the little '-' icon in the top right. It should remember your choice so you don't need to do it every time!
