We've never had a pet more active than fish lolz.. We once had Goldfish but they all died =[ then we had a turtle (Beans) =] That's pretty much about it...

I somehow doubt you love cats more than the Egyptians did Tongue  Considering they had Cat Gods/Goddesses, Shrines, Temples, and were often times BURRIED with their Cats when they passed away.

Ah, convincing parents is always the hardest part of getting an animal (I did it in November)

Anyways, what Majick said is WONDERFUL advice. Males and females are usually quite different. Males are more personable and loves affection. Females tend to be on the more independent side, although I bet they can get all loveable too! Basically what I recommend is doing ALL of the research you can do on cats, then present it to your family. Also start doing more things around the house (or doing something with more responsibility) to show that you really are ready to take care of a kitty!
