Is the cup glass or plastic? It looks like the latter to me.
I imagine a thicker fluid with lovely frothy on the top. That looks kind of lame to me, but if they just made the setup a bit nicer, or used some lighting effects on it, it might've looked alright.

but then later on on the films and books, she is becoming more attached to Ron
