The America's Cup? Never heard of it, what's it about?
It's a yachting trophy held every three years between whatever yacht club holds the trophy & a challenger. It used to be between an American club & a British, but in recent years to please sponsors there's been New Zealand & Swiss competitors.

What am I thinking right now - only that it's typical of Billy Connolly that he hates Scottish "shortbread tin culture" so much he's in every kitschy "och aye the noo up yer kilts Jimmy!" crap on TV or film (yes, still watching "Brave"). Hates it so much he's made himself a millionaire many times over on the back of it Dodgy

I'm thinking that it's mildly annoying when the auto-correct thingy makes my name be "Clasping".
I'm thinking summer might not be quite over yet (here's to optimism)

I'm thinking that it is not a bad idea to move the 2022 World Cup to the winter. It would be terrible to try to play in a Qatar summer at 50 degrees. I can understand the Aussies being annoyed, though. A change that big, if known in advance, might make a difference to how you present your bid. Although, why DID they give it Qatar, knowing that it was, at the time, a summer event?
Qatar gave the biggest bribe to the FIFA officials - much to the Russians annoyance. It may all be in vain though, there's word Qatar will have it taken off them because a lot of clubs are refusing to release players for it during what will be their mid season for all bar League of Ireland & Irish Football League players. A lot of the players as well care more about the Champions League than the World Cup.

International sporting events shouldn't be given to vicious little dictatorships like that which bankroll terrorists pseuds & can jail you for life for apostasy.

Am I the only one that finds that new Bold advert naff?

Egyptiandance Wacko Fryingpan
Ah yes, they offered the officials some irresistible "hospitality", eh. What a pickle they're making of the whole thing.

Haven't seen the Bold advert I'm afraid. I don't see many adverts these days because I rarely watch unrecorded telly.

Right now I'm thinking that "Mrs Brown" is quite an amusing programme. Big Grin

This is truly a weak advert.

"Soft in the head, & fresh out of ideas" - like your advertising department Proctor & Gamble. A man saying "& don't forget the softener"? On what planet is this ad supposed to be shot on?

The comments underneath it on YouTube are priceless.

As for that gimp going "funneeeeeee", P-U-N-C-H! Diablo

I think that cheese Panda should go round & give them a doing.

(F'king 'ell Hearts & Liverpool!) BangHead

OK, yes, that is quite an atrocious advert. But it comes with "extra speckles", so that can only be a good thing. Actually, I am not so keen on speckles. It reminds me of the time Head of IT spilled some ground coffee in the fridge and then when I opened it I totally flipped out and ran around shouting about the fridge being "full of spores". Slight overreaction, I know, but I honestly thought something really nasty was growing in there. And sporulating.
Reminds me of a former place of work where the same happened with one of the vending machines. Turned out that the "you're supposed to get those speckles in your coffee, don't you know anything?" we were being told were really down to insects in the vending machine relieving themselves. Sick The subject of a proper work's kitchen instead of a breakout area became top of the agenda again (& shelved in due course - dirty bar stewards)
